June 4 is National Cancer Survivors’ Day. A time to recognize those who have fought or are currently battling cancer. This June, honor a cancer survivor in your life with a blood donation!

Donation Requirements

• Donors must be at least 16 years-old, weigh at least 110* pounds and feel well and healthy to give blood.
• Donors 16-22 years of age must meet additional height and weight requirements.
• Tattoos are acceptable if done in a Nevada retail establishment and have healed (usually 2-3 weeks after applied).
• Donor cannot be taking antibiotics within the last 48 hours prior to the blood drive and must feel well.

• Some travel outside of the U.S. may have a 3-month wait from the date of return.
• Donors who had been previously told they could not give blood because they were born, lived or traveled to Europe (1980-1996) as it related to the mad cow outbreak are now able to resume giving blood. The FDA has lifted the restrictions.
